services offered and length of stay. The

Hotel
Classification
The
purpose of hotel classification is:-
- Customer Information
Ø Customers are able to
predetermine the hotels compatible with their budget
Ø Gives the customer the
assurance that the hotel he chooses will meet his expectations in terms of
service and facilities
- Price Regulation
Ø Grading hotels in terms of
their standards creates a justification for the price level of services and
amenities charged to the customer
Ø Acts as a guideline in approval
of tariff applicable in the particular hotel and also licensing
- Marketing Aid
Ø Grading makes marketing easier
since the prices quoted and information given is related to what the hotel
offers
Ø It creates a common language
that can be used and understood all over the world
Ø Enhances the acceptability of a
country’s hotels in the international market
- Incentive for Improvement
Ø Official grading means
recognition which motivates potential hoteliers to invest more to improve their
standards
- Performance Yardstick
Ø It helps an individual hotel to
